Day of the State Emblem of Ukraine

On February 19, 1992, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine approved by its resolution the State Emblem of independent Ukraine.
It was a golden Trident on a blue shield — the national symbol of Ukrainians during the liberation struggles of the 20th century.
The draft coat of arms, approved by the Verkhovna Rada, was developed by a group of Ukrainian heraldists — Andriy Hrechyl, Oleksiy Kokhan, and Ivan Turetsky.
One of the symbols of statehood and our identity is the State Emblem.
It combines the spirit of our people and connects generations of Ukrainians.
