The main areas of work of a practical psychologist:

  1. Psychodiagnostics:
    • diagnosis of the readiness of children of the 1st and 5th grades for learning conditions. Identification of children of the risk group among school students;
    • diagnosis of students' professional orientation – graduates.
  2. Psychological counseling:
    • individual and group consultations with students, parents and teachers.
  3. Corrective-restorative and developmental work:
    • group and individual work with at-risk children, work with 1st, 5th grade students to increase the level of readiness for new learning conditions;
    • training classes on issues of formation of professional orientation and personality formation of graduates.
  4. Preventive work:
    • prevention of cases of deviant behavior (disorders - eating, smoking, consumption of alcoholic beverages, gambling, etc.), preservation of mental health of children, teachers, parents.
  5. Educational work:
    • conversations with students about a healthy lifestyle, violence in the family, human trafficking.

Practical school psychologist:

  • Performs the initial examination of future first-graders during the selection of 1st grades.
  • Determines the psychological readiness of children to study at the institution (diagnostic and corrective work with children who are not ready for school).
  • Study of the level of adaptation of first and fifth graders to school life.
  • Career orientation work.
  • Identification and prevention of cases of cruelty and violence.
  • Identification and prevention of deviant and delinquent behavior of students.
  • Prevention of suicidal behavior.
  • Prevention of human trafficking.
